Zhu Chen is a Managing Director at SIA, bringing extensive experience in project management and advising companies and governments on China gas and LNG markets. At SIA, she manages gas related subscription and consulting services, and is specialized in China regional gas market analysis, company strategies and energy policies.
Prior to co-founding SIA, Zhu was an Associate Director in PFC Energy’s (acquired by IHS in 2013) Beijing office for three years. There, she helped grow the firm’s China business and led its China policy analysis. Zhu also spent three years at Century Weekly, a respected Chinese business and finance publication (formerly Caijing Magazine) where she covered natural resources, including oil and gas. During her time with Century Weekly, she followed Chinese NOCs closely and regularly, focusing on their overseas investments and operations and on their cooperation with IOCs worldwide. Zhu authored many cover stories with exclusive interviews with global industry leaders. Between 2007 and 2008, Zhu was a Washington, DC based correspondent for China’s Newsweek and Caijing Magazine.
Zhu holds a M.S. degree from the School of Journalism at University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign and a B.A. from the School of Journalism and Communication, Renmin University of China.
